RSS

What is RSS?

RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication'. Essentially it is a news feed which allows you to see when a website has added new content. You can view the latest updates from various websites in one place without having to visit the sites themselves.

How do I start using RSS?

Firstly you will need a news reader, software that checks the feeds and lets you access any new content that has been added. There are various news readers available which work on different operating systems, so choose one that's right for your computer. Some of the most commonly used are offered by Google, Yahoo, newsgator and Windows Live but there are many others available.

Then you just need to choose what content you want to receive. If you would like to be notified about the latest e-seminars or upcoming events that have been added to myAshurst, simply visit the E-seminars or What's on section of the site and you will see an orange RSS button on the right hand side. If you click on the button you can subscribe to the feed by:

  • dragging the web address of the feed into your news reader;
  • cutting and pasting the web address into a new feed in your news reader.
  • Using myAshurst feeds on your site

    If you are an Ashurst client, RSS can be used to display the latest myAshurst event and e-seminar information on your own intranet site. If you are unsure how to do this your IT department should be able to help.
