In this seminar James Perry and Glynn Barwick discuss the European Commission directive recently published. The Commission is proposing a fundamental reform to the regulation of managers of unregulated collective investment schemes. These reforms will, if they are passed in their current form, extend the regulator's oversight of such managers, increase the disclosure requirements on funds and restrict the capacity of the managers to market them to investors.
